The drug scam in Indonesia

People who travel to Indonesia, Singapore and some other destionations, should be aware that there is DEATH penalty for drug smuggling and possession of illegal drugs.

My self, I have been on several occasions to Indonesia, and was a decent person until then, I had never ever tried any illegal drugs, I barely used alchohol. So I felt quite indifferent about those harsh drug laws.

Then one night I was invited by some Indonesian friend to go to a night club in Bali, where they play a lot of techno music. I have never before or after been to such a club, or a so called house party etc.

I am a certified High School Teacher, and frankly I did not even like the club or the style there - it is not my style. But anyway, I went to the Toilet to take a leak, as might happen occasionally. While I was there, I was approached by a local man who said: Ecstasy! Ecstasy!?
I tried to ignore him, and I said NO NO NO! but he still insisted.
Thank God I was not interested in trying it out, as might have been the case with another person in the same situation.

When I got out from the WC I told my Indonesia friend what happened. He saw the guy, and told me that the man is an agent working for the police, trying to frame people.
Had I said YES, and taken the pill he pushed, I would have been arrested on the spot, and would have been blackmailed to pay up front a lot of cash to avoid prison, or even being sent to jail for years! Me being a man with no such experience of drug use, being put in prison like that?!
CRAZY!

So, be very very careful when you are in holiday over there.
I also heard that some people may have drugs put in their pockets by police agents working under cover, while they enjoy some drinks in a bar, just to frame innocent tourists and blackmailing them.

This seems to happen in several countries in Asia, so be careful and NEVER say yes to drugs, not even grass! It may cost you the rest of your life.
Thailand has similar practices, and they don't care if they destroy your life.

Bali is a Paradise, but unfortunately there are evil snakes in all Paradises on this Earth.
